27 Ways to Increase Family Involvement In The Classroom via Teach Thought

I like this graphic- 27 Ways to Increase Family Involvement In The Classroom. it is an easy way to remind ourselves to keep our families involved in their child’s classrooms. Many times it’s just a matter of taking the time (which is a very precious commodity on both sides) to make that phone call or write that note or send a picture and then you have them hooked into what you are doing. This is a great resource for teachers to print or save to revisit later.

Some highlights from this graphic are:

camera-icon-hiPhotos– Share pics  with parents to show them what their kids are doing in your classroom. Please be sensitive to permissions parents have given regarding their children in pictures/videos.

2316703779_7a7d8ac6e3Text – Make it short and simple! Parents are just as busy as you are! Give them the important details they need so they can stay informed.

imagesCA38SJY9Foster – (This is my favorite, of course!) – Foster an online presence and create a place  Use social media, you school website, or if your school doesn’t provide space on their website to teachers, use one of the many sites out there that allows you create a free website or blog (Weebly, WordPress or many others) so you can post important information or links for students/parents to access information.
